Technoda’s annual Young Inventors Competition challenges elementary through high school aged participants todevelop patents, new inventions and improvements of existing models. Over 550 students from dozens of schools all over Israel participate, including schools from Druze and Arab villages and special education schools. The competition culminates with a restive awards ceremony and open house where the young inventors demonstrate their projects. The competition was established in 1996 in memory of IAF Captain Yaron Vivente (z”l), whose plane was brought down in a training accident in the Negev in 1995. Yaron was an outstanding member of the first Technoda class and went on to become the first Israel Air Force fighter pilot from Givat Olga. He has become a symbol to the children of Technoda of the heights to which they can aspire, and the Young Inventors Competition is a tribute to his spirit of excellence.
